Discover the art of hand-built ceramics in this beginner-friendly class designed for anyone interested in creating beautiful and functional pottery. Throughout the course, students will explore essential ceramic skills including studio safety, clay preparation and handling, rolling and shaping slabs, and techniques for building and joining clay forms. Emphasis will be placed on craftsmanship, creativity, and understanding how to transform simple slabs of clay into durable, usable objects. By the end of the class, students will have gained the confidence and foundational skills needed to continue creating their own hand-built ceramics independently. Each student will complete multiple finished pieces of functional ware that have been glazed, fired, and are ready for everyday use. Whether you are completely new to ceramics or looking to expand your creative skills, this class offers a supportive and engaging introduction to the world of handmade pottery. | |
